Yard Puttering, Tending Chickens and Eating Raspberries

Sunday June 21, 2020 Guerneville CA.

Easy day

I didn’t have much to do today so I was slow in getting it going, but I did.

Chickens out to graze

The chickens are always happy to get out to graze.  Here they are going over my half gate. The half gate is to let the larger ones out but not the little peeps as the hawks like to get the smaller ones, but the larger ones seem to be ok as the hawks are the smaller ones.hopgate

Peeps

I rounded up some wild radish weeds and put them in the chick pen for them to eat.peeps

Here’s a couple of my littlest chicks. The one on the left is an Easter egg type that lays blue green eggs.chicks

I watched the chicks for a good part of the day and cleaned up their pen a bit.chickies

Got a little done

I did a lot of chair hopping and some napping too and mostly just took it easy today. I did get a couple loads of wash washed. It’s good to have a washer for that.

Wild birds like raspberries

The wild birds have been eating a lot of my raspberries but now the wild plums are getting ripe and some other stuff so I’m starting to get more ripe ones for myself.

And so do I

I mostly like to walk around and eat them right off the bush. These are ever bearing ones so they last most of the summer.berries

That was my day just puttering around the yard taking it easy.

Nice day.
