VA Lab and a Bum Knee that Hurts Like Hell

On the way to the VA clinic

I’ve got an annual doctors appointment coming up next week. I usually like to go down a week early and have them draw blood for the lab work so the Doc and I have something current to talk about.

But I wasn’t sure they set up the lab draw automatically or not. So instead of calling I  just drove on down there about a half hour drive from my house.

Pains in the knee

Interesting enough, my left knee is hurting like hell today. I slightly remember kneeling down on the pavement and putting my knee on a small rock or something. I was working on the pressure washer so not paying too much attention to that knee when it happened.

So today the knee cap on that knee is hurting good which surprises me for the small thing that happened to it.

VA for a blood draw

So I’m walking with a bit of a limp as I enter the VA clinic. I go to the lab and find out they don’t have any lab draws for me on the computer,……… see the lady at the front desk and get my doc to put in for the tests. That takes about an hour as I have to wait for the doc to come back from someplace.

So a few minutes before noon I get the ok and the lab is still open before lunch so I’m good to go.

Cancel shopping

From there I was planning to go do some shopping, but that darn knee was paining me quite a bit, so I canceled that. It’s like the knee cap is bruised or something and hurts quite a lot and I have to be careful walking so it doesn’t hurt.

My friend Joe lives on the way home so I stopped in and shot the bull with him for an hour or so. He has a new dog that was real friendly. He said he’d be up cutting firewood tomorrow not far from my house and I should stop by, so I likely will. He’ll be at another friends house.

Cold packed the knee

By now my knee was really hurting, so I went directly home and put a cold pack on my knee a couple of times which helped some to ease the pain.

I also tried to stay off of it as much as possible which meant I didn’t do much else today except baby that knee.

Tonight the knee is feeling a lot better so maybe it’s on the mend.

I had planned to work on doing some more epoxy work on the van’s roof leaks, but I just couldn’t get into it and thought it was better to give the knee a break.
