Researching My Corn Problem and Making Some Bread Dough

Staying out of the rain

It was raining again when I got it going today, too much rain to do much outside, so I stayed in the house most of the day and did research on corn sensitivity and leaky gut type stuff. I learned a lot about food sensitivity.

Only one cure

However, the end result and the only cure is to get the offending food out of your diet, which isn’t too hard with most foods, but since corn is in so much stuff and not labeled as such, getting the offending food out of one’s diet isn’t so easy.

Elimination diet is the way

So, it all comes down to what they call a food elimination diet to try and identify offending foods. I already know corn is my problem, so it’s more of a matter of finding foods that don’t have any type corn stuff in them. Matters are even worse as if one food type is causing a problem, there is also a good chance another food type may also be causing a problem.

I’ve been doing an elimination type diet for quite some time now. I find some stuff that’s getting me, but I’ve not been able to find it all, yet.

I did get some new ideas

Reading up on all this stuff is giving me some new ideas on what to do to fight this thing as far as how to run the elimination diet different from what I’ve been trying.

Dough for bread

Reading all this was making me hungry so this evening I took my yeast starter and made some bread dough up.dough

And put some of the yeast dough in a bread pan to rise.panned

The dough is still rising at this time and that was my day.

My sister is allergic to corn. It breaks out her face and around her ankles. It looks like it’s really hard to eliminate corn from a diet because it’s in everything or things are cooked in corn oil. My sister even had problems when one of her neighbors planted corn. Thank goodness he quit farming.

      Hi Martha,
Yes, corn is about the worst thing one could be allergic too as it’s really in most of our stuff, even the meds. Not fun. Itches and rashes, yuck.

I have been reading your blog for quite sometime!
I have lived in Texas for 49 years but was raised in Bishop, California.
Mainly wanted to say I really like your bread pan!! :)

    • Bob Noble says:

      Hi Pat,
I like that one too and I don’t remember where I got it. Most of the bread pans are too big sideways, but not this one.

Good luck Bob with your research. I can’t imagine having to be so careful with what goes into my diet but I give you credit for doing something about it. I’ll see how your bread turns out tomorrow!

    • Bob Noble says:

      Hi Patsy,
The only way anyone can imagine how bad this corn sensitivity is to have it and I wouldn’t wish it on anyone. I used to like to eat most everything, but now, I still like to but can’t. :O) I do think my research has been paying off and there might be a way to rid myself of this, but it means staying away from corn totally for over six months which is the hard part.
      Talk about diet restrictions.
      Bob
