Replacing the Car’s Rear Struts and Tending New Peeps

Wednesday May 19, 2021 Guerneville CA.

Car work day

I got some new shocks the other day for my car so today I would install them.

So I got the tools out and  the jack and jack stands and jacked the car up.

Once the wheels where off I could get the old struts off the car.car

Big springs

Then I had to remove the big spring off the old shock and install it on the new one which is the hardest part of the job.

I’ve got the big spring moved to the new shock and is now ready to put back on.struts

Then I went around and did the other side of the car and got that side back together after a bit.carside

That took most of the day as I’d work a bit then sit down for a break and then do some more work as there was no rush to get it done.

Radio hookup

Late in the day Dominique brought her old VW bug by and I hooked up the radio wires for her. Now she is happy as she can have some tunes while driving.radio

New peeps

I tended the new chicks throughout the day too keeping an eye on them to keep them out of trouble.

It’s just before dark so they are in for the night except that one on the side that seems to be not sure where to go.peeps

Eventually this peep did find it’s home in one of he nest boxes.peep

Blackberry vines

I was walking by here and noticed these wild blackberry vines are taking over so I got out the loppers and cut them back a bit, which will only slow them down a bit.vines

That was actually a fairly easy day as I took my time working on the car and did some other stuff witch broke up the mechanicing.

Nice day.

I discovered in my days of chicken wrangling that babies will snuggle under any old hen. Some seemed to change moms often.
