Checking On the New Solar and Some Van Prep For A Trip

Wednesday June 1, 2022 Guerneville CA.

Solar’s not working

When I came outside and checked how the van’s new solar charger was doing I found it wasn’t charging. I looked around a bit and found I’d pulled a wire out from the solar control panel last night when I was adjusting the control mount. I guess I didn’t tighten it tight enough. I got the wire hooked back up and gave all the wires a good tighten just to be sure.

Then I put the fan on for a draw on the battery and it all seems to be working well.control

Prepping for a trip

I have a trip coming up next week so some prep is needed to get ready for that.

I filled enough water jogs up for the trip and got them loaded back in the van.water

I loaded some other stuff too, such as food items and sorted some other stuff out.

Cleanup

Then I worked on cleaning up the stuff around the van that I used to get the solar stuff installed, such as the ladder and wire pieces laying around.van

Day dreaming, lazy day

I really didn’t have much energy to do much of anything today. I sat in my chair in the van and did some day dreaming and planning for the trip.view

Some robins were eating wild plums in the yard that are getting ripe.robin

They can’t see me in the van so it makes a nice place to view wildlife.robin3

And watching the chickens is always interesting as they are always up to something.chickens

USB port is nice

Later in the day I set my radios up to charge. One of the nice features of this solar control panel is it also has a USB port on it that comes in handy for charging stuff.charging

I mostly took it easy today to give my back a break which is doing a lot better.

Nice day.
