Dirt bike chain maintenance
The plan for the day was to go up into the forest and finish dealing with that rock on the trail I started to break up yesterday. I just needed to smooth the trail around where the rock was.
But first I needed to adjust the chain on the dirt bike as I was going to take it up into the hills today instead of the quad runner as I’d left the tools up there so I didn’t have to haul them up to the trail.
Loose chain
The last couple of times I rode the dirt bike it sounded like the chain was flopping back there and needed some attentions.
I got the tools out and tightened the chain up and then got some oil out and lubed it up good too.
Forgot my camera
After a bit of chair hopping around the yard I hopped on the dirt bike and rode on up into the hills realizing on the way up that I’d forgotten my camera, oh well, I wasn’t going back through the two gates to get it.
Plans
My plan was to spend an hour or two finishing up that part of the trail and then go for a ride and look for wild edible mushrooms.
Trail work
So I worked on the trail and got it all fixed up and smoothed out which took a couple hours.
Nice ride
Then I rode the dirt bike around looking for mushrooms along the roads but I kept day dreaming and mostly just had a nice ride and kept forgetting to look for the mushrooms.
Chicken antics
When I got back to my house the chickens wanted into the front yard to graze so I let them out and sat with them for a bit watching their antics.
Some of them have discovered the pineapple guavas and seem to like them. For some reason the guavas are real small this year.
It wasn’t long before the dark set in so I went in the house for the day.
