A Drive to the Ocean and Doing Some Visiting

Wednesday June 17, 2020 Jenner CA.

Not so windy

I was thinking of going kayaking today but the weather guys said it was going to be windy. Of course once I got down to the river I found them to be wrong and it wasn’t that windy but I already had other plans.

Going for a ride to the ocean

So, I decided to take a ride over to the ocean instead to just get out and look around. I also had a few people I needed to stop by to visit so I headed on down to the overlook overlooking the river as it entered the ocean, called the river’s mouth.

Seal counter

At the overlook this guy was counting seals so after looking around and getting some photos I introduced myself and shot the bull with him for  a bit. guy

River’s mouth

Here’s my view looking out into the ocean or west. The river is flowing into the ocean here.mouth

And north, which is the end of the river with the ocean in the back.north

Harbor seals

The guy was counting all these seals for the water agency which does biological studies down here. He counts them every few minutes throughout the day to record their movements.critters

Old history

After shooting the bull for a bit with the guy I drove back up to Bridge Haven and chatted with a lady I know there about the old history of this area. I had some old maps to show her.

Visiting Charlie

Then I drove back to Monte Rio to visit Charlie and his family which I hadn’t seen in quite some time.charlie

We had a good bull session and before I knew it it was after 6 so I  headed on home for the day.

I checked the chickens and they all seemed to be doing well.

That was my day.

Nice day.
